DESCRIPTION:Mount Joy 175 Celebration \nThis year marks a special moment in our community’s history as Mount Joy celebrates its 175th anniversary. The celebration is made even more meaningful as our nation prepares to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. \nTo honor these milestones\, the community is invited to gather for Stars\, Stripes & Joy\, an evening filled with history\, entertainment\, family activities\, and hometown pride. \nThe celebration will begin at 4:00 PM on Saturday\, September 12\, with remarks from community leaders and a ribbon cutting. Guests will also have the opportunity to attend the grand opening and open house of Mount Joy Borough’s new municipal building. \nThroughout the evening guests will have the opportunity to view Mount Joy Borough’s new municipal building. Attendees can enjoy live music from Phredd (4:30-5:15 PM) and The Nines (5:30-7:30 PM)\, along with a variety of food and refreshments from local favorites including the Mount Joy Rotary Fry Wagon\, Taco RV\, Truckin’ Chow Down\, Two Cousins\, Iron Born Bistro and Rita’s. \nFamily-friendly fun will be available throughout the event\, including a bounce house\, and balloon creations from Razzle Dazzle Balloons. \nCommunity organizations will also be on hand to share information about their missions and services\, providing attendees with an opportunity to learn more about the groups that help make Mount Joy a great place to live\, work\, and visit. \nAmerican Legion Post 185\nChiques Creek Watershed Alliance\nDonegal Fish & Conservation Association\nECHOS\nFire Department Mount Joy\nFriends of Donegal\nKiwanis Club of Elizabethtown-Donegal\nMilanof-Schock Library\nMount Joy Area Chamber of Commerce\nMount Joy Area Historical Society\nMount Joy Lions Club\nMount Joy Ministirium\nRAISE28\nVFW Post No. 5752\nVoyage Mount Joy \nHistory enthusiasts won’t want to miss displays from the Mount Joy Area Historical Society\, featuring artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of Mount Joy’s growth and development over the past 175 years. \nThe evening will conclude with a first for Mount Joy—a neighborhood-friendly drone show beginning at 8:00 PM\, providing a memorable finale to this community celebration. \nThe Mount Joy Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to play a part in planning this event alongside many dedicated community partners.
