This year marks a special moment in our community’s history as Mount Joy celebrates its 175th anniversary. The celebration is made even more meaningful as our nation prepares to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
To honor these milestones, the community is invited to gather for Stars, Stripes & Joy, an evening filled with history, entertainment, family activities, and hometown pride.
The celebration will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and remarks from community leaders. Guests will also have the opportunity to attend the grand opening and open house of Mount Joy Borough’s new municipal building.
Throughout the evening, attendees can enjoy live music from Phredd (6:00–6:45 p.m.) and The Kracker Beez (7:00–9:00 p.m.), along with a variety of food and refreshments from local favorites including Noel’s Café, Piper Belle’s BBQ, Reist Popcorn Company, Rita’s Italian Ice, the Rotary Fry Wagon, Spud Muffin, and Taco RV.
Family-friendly fun will be available throughout the event, including Lancaster Mobile Mini Golf, a bounce house, and balloon creations from Razzle Dazzle Balloons.
Community organizations will also be on hand to share information about their missions and services, providing attendees with an opportunity to learn more about the groups that help make Mount Joy a great place to live, work, and visit.

History enthusiasts won’t want to miss displays from the Mount Joy Area Historical Society, featuring artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of Mount Joy’s growth and development over the past 175 years.
The evening will conclude with a first for Mount Joy—a neighborhood-friendly drone show beginning at 9:30 p.m., providing a memorable finale to this community celebration.
The Mount Joy Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to play a part in planning this event alongside many dedicated community partners. Celebrating 175 years of Mount Joy is an opportunity to reflect on our community’s rich history, recognize the people and organizations that have shaped it, and look ahead to a bright future.
