A WORKSHOP PRESENTED BY MATTERS OF THE HEART COUNSELING, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MASTERS IN SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM AT LANCASTER BIBLE COLLEGE
Adoption often begins with disrupted attachment relationships that can affect a child’s brain development, emotions, and behavior. Dr. Reese will explore the effects of early trauma and provide practical, trauma-informed strategies to promote healing, strengthen relationships, and reduce challenging behaviors. Ideal for adoptive and foster parents, therapists, social workers, and other caregivers.
Training Objectives:
- Learn about the impact of attachment disruption through the life cycle (at each developmental stage).
- Be able to apply 2 strategies to regulate the nervous system.
- Understand the impact of trauma on lifelong relationship skills and abilities.

Presenter:
Dr. Christina Reese has spent the past 25 years working with children affected by trauma and their families. She is a licensed clinical counselor and supervisor in Maine, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, an internationally recognized trainer on trauma-informed schools, classroom mental health, and attachment and trauma in children, and a TBRI practitioner. Dr. Reese is the owner of Felicity Counseling Services and the author of Attachment Puzzle Pieces, The Attachment Connection, Trauma and Attachment, The Socially Confident Teen, Leveling Up, God and Attachment, and Hope for This Upside Down and Backwards Life.
